Truly a boot of all time. In form and spirit, your classic USGI jungle boot, albeit with some slight modernization. Easier to maintain than a black boot, these foot prisons encapsulate all of the honor and glory one would associate with basic training. Many GIs just stick with these guys, seldom bothering to invest in overpriced, over hyped alternatives. 

Only true patriots rock the basic training boot by choice. 

These are U.S. jungle-style combat boots, descended from a design the Army first tested in Panama before WWII and refined heavily during Vietnam. The core idea has never changed: no boot can stay fully dry in wet, humid terrain, so instead of trying to keep water out, the design lets it drain back out fast. Screened vent holes near the instep do exactly that, letting water escape while keeping mud and insects out, which is why some pairs in this batch have them and others don't depending on the specific production run.

Construction is a nylon and cowhide upper on a Vibram outsole, made in the USA. It's the same basic boot the Army has issued to generations of soldiers rather than a flashier, pricier alternative, which is exactly why it's stuck around as long as it has.
