Issued USGI M9 Bayonet W/Scabbard

Issued USGI M9 Bayonet W/Scabbard

One of the most well-known pieces of USGI field kit, the mighty M9 Bayonet has been in service with the United States military for going on forty years. A true universal tool, these blades were designed to serve as a wire cutter, saw, metal slicer, screwdriver, and, most critically, as a bottle opener. Perfect for your rifle, a shift at the warehouse, or possibly even the kitchen, this is one of those items every red-blooded simulated combat specialist needs.Ā

These knives come in decent condition: "some rust" means you should expect varying degrees of rust on the blade and hilt. Pieces designated "no rust" should be entirely rust-free thanks to having been lathered in oil. Examples of the two are pictured.Ā

The Short & Sweet:

  • Authentic USGIĀ
  • Multipurpose knife
  • Sheethe includedĀ
  • Easily mounts to compatible bayonet lugs
  • 420 stainless steel constructionĀ

Designed by Charles A. Finn, the M9 is an example of the U.S taking inspiration from the Soviets, with the knife itself being an improved copy of the 6H3 design. The multipurpose nature of the knife signaled the U.S's escalating emphasis on high technology and combined arms. With ever decreasing likelihood of hand-to-hand combat, the knife needed to serve multiple practical purposes while remaining a reliable edged weapon in the field. The result was a robust blade ready for anything.Ā

An icon of video games, film, and "Battlefield Friends," this knife is truly the wakizashi of the modern American's EDC daisho. Whether you're an outdoor enthusiast, looking to add some panache to your LARP, or just want a big ass knife, these are about as good as it gets.Ā
